Tower Gas Packed Low-energy gas scrubbers are called scrubbers. They are employed in recovery, cooling, and gas absorption processes. They have several uses across numerous sectors due to their great scrubbing effectiveness and low power consumption. These kinds of scrubbers work best when the gases they must manage are particle-free since particles tend to clog the packing.
When the tower is in use, a nozzle allows the cleaning liquid to enter and be sprayed evenly across the top of a packed bed. This allows the liquid to trickle through the packing material from top to bottom without channeling.
Gas enters the tower through the inlet near the bottom and passes through the support plate into the packed bed, counter current to the flow of the scrubbing liquid, contaminants are removed. After passing through the packed bed, the cleaned gas passes through a mist eliminator section near the top of the tower. Here, any entrained liquid is removed before the clean air is discharged through the outlet.
Advantages
The majority of typical gas pollutants may be removed using packed tower gas scrubbers at extremely high efficiency (up to and over 99%) and negligible pressure losses. In addition to being offered in regular sizes, packed tower gas scrubbers may also be specifically made to accommodate odd service circumstances. S&K can provide a fully packed system with a fan, recycling pump, and liquid storage for recycling upon request.
